Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents who have lived in the inland (mainland) China for more than six months with a legitimate and stable job, a legitimate and stable residence or continuous school attendance are eligible to apply for a residence permit in accordance with the relevant regulations according to their wishes.
Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents under the age of 16 may apply for a residence permit on their behalf by their guardian.
Information shown on Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents' residence permits
The Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan resident residence permit includes the following information: name, gender, date of birth, residential address, citizen identification number, photo, fingerprint information, validity period of the certificate, issuing authority, issuing times, and entry and exit document number of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents.
Citizen identification numbers are compiled by public security authority in accordance with national standards for citizen identification numbers. Hong Kong residents use 810000 as their ID number address code, Macau residents use 820000 as their ID number address code, and Taiwan residents use 830000 as their ID number address code.
Renewal and replacement of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents' residence permits
If the validity of the residence permit expires, the certificate is damaged and difficult to identify, or the place of residence is changed, the holder may renew the certificate; Those who have lost their residence permit may apply for a replacement. When applying for a new permit, the applicant shall submit his/her entry-exit documents for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents for examination. When obtaining a new certificate, the original certificate shall be returned.
Validity of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents' residence permits
Residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who engage in relevant activities on the inland (mainland) and need to prove their identity shall have the right to use residence permits to prove their identity, and the relevant authorities and their staff shall not refuse.

(1) Take domestic flights, trains and other means of transportation;
(2) Accommodation hotels;
(3) Handle banking, insurance, securities and futures and other financial services;

(5) Apply for motor vehicle registration in the place of residence;
(6) Apply for a motor vehicle driving license in the place of residence;
(7) Register for the vocational qualification examination and apply for the granting of vocational qualification in the place of residence;

(9) Other facilities stipulated by the country and the place of residence.
Invalidation of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents' residence permits
If the holder of a Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan resident residence permit falls under any of the following circumstances, their residence permit shall be declared invalid by the issuing authority:
(1) Loss of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan resident status;
(2) Fraudulently obtaining residence permits for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents using false certification materials;
(3) May cause harm to the sovereignty, security, honor and interests of the State;
(4) The entry-exit documents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents are cancelled, collected or declared invalid (except for normal replacement).
